How to Find a Jewellery Gift for Someone Who Is Hard-To-Please!
By Michelle Natalie Michaelis

Choosing a gift for someone is not an easy task. And of course there are the people who are always difficult to buy for! What about that person who has everything, or the man in your life, or even the couple entering a civil partnership? Jewellery is special and unique. It is personal and useful as well. A nice watch or a bracelet make suitable presents with a little forethought. And it lasts longer than a bunch of flowers.

Women love new styles, in order to ring the changes. Some change their wardrobe collection almost every season. But not everyone can afford to do so and therefore I think that giving something that's trendy but not too expensive is a good idea, because a funky piece of jewellery can update a classic outfit without too much cost. Sometimes a more suitable present is one that does not go out of fashion after a certain time, and in that case a good solution for this will be more conventional jewellery, e.g. silver and gold rather than plastic and wood. Jewellery can be passed down to your younger sister or your daughter sometime in the future. If she has a lot of jewellery, why not get her a jewellery box or a travel box?

Jewellery is not only meant for women. Men also wear jewellery and my website, has a great range of items that are suitable for men. Silver and gold jewellery for example, is popular, but titanium or platinum is also worth considering. Platinum jewellery is more expensive compared to gold. Men like watches, in my experience! A watch can be tailored to his lifestyle, or even what he would like to have as his lifestyle! Smart or funky, a diver's watch or a chronograph; traditional or designer, the possibilities are endless! Watches can be an ideal choice yet select what the person would choose for themselves, rather than something you would pick for yourself. Some people like stark and simple, and would probably prefer a designer watch, whereas others love to fiddle with dials and bezels and would thus appreciate a complex watch with several functions, not just day and date!

What about same-sex couples? A Civil Partnership can be celebrated in a similar fashion to a standard marriage, and with a little forethought suitable presents can be found for both the participants. Same sex commitments hold no less an impact on someone's life as does a heterosexual marriage. Hopefully the commitment, love and devotion will withstand time as could your gift. A gift of jewellery can demonstrate the closeness you have to a couple and it must be selected purposefully based on your knowledge of them.

The obvious choices are matching pieces though to be honest it would be best to individualize each piece to represent the receiver. Necklaces or plain chains are a lovely gift especially if the necklace reflects the moment. This reflection could be based on the ceremony location, the first meeting location or something specific to the couple (e.g. Zodiac or birth signs, guardian angels, hearts, or identical hobbies). There is no harm in presenting the happy couple with a pair of necklaces with each one varying slightly. Rings are not necessarily the best choice as they will probably have special ones already selected for the day. Bracelets can be a good substitute and a present that may also be tailored to the wearers. A charm bracelet is a good idea and you can start it off with a charm or two that is relevant to the individual. Depending on the tastes of the couple the bracelets may be made of metal (gold, silver, pewter, stainless steel, or platinum), leather, rubber or other natural fibres. A little imagination goes a long way, and if you are stuck for inspiration, my website has lots of suitable items to give you some ideas.
